Caligula appears to be a strong zoning character, with many options to fill the space between him and his opponent with an impassable wall of reactive threats. Between bees, dinosaur heads and items his ability to control space is quite possibly unmatched by anyone else in the game. As a tradeoff, his combo damage is horrible and he overall rarely wants to be next to the enemy. Your sweetspot is at full screen, no closer, no further (mainly because you can't). His decent amount of health amounts to being able to live while he gradually grinds the opponent down.

Caligula plants his scythe into the ground and a dinosaur head

comes out of the ground at about a full screen away.

Does not affect your 421 heads.

Items. Caligula throws a random item,

after which a green gauge will briefly

appear over your super meter, signifying

the cooldown on the item. The timer can be tracked by

the length of the items' soundclips.

The following items can be thrown:

Mannequin: Headless, and exactly as tall as

Caligula without his head. Functions as a solid wall

and will not disappear until it times out. Plays an advertisement.

Fridge: Throws a refrigerator that soon spits out

food items near itself. These do damage and hitstun.

Mini-Me: A miniature Caligula appears at about 1,5 

times Caligula's height and rapidly spins, mimicking

his j.D. Flies up and away upon either hitting an opponent

or timing out. Plays a very fast chipmunk recording and

times out when the recording finishes.

Doll: A giant doll with a very long timer. It speaks

in a deep, warped voice and explodes when it times out.

Has no hitbox until timeout.

Underwear: Two copies of Caligula's underpants fly at an arc from behind

him to above him (also know as roboteching), then zoom across the screen.

Excellent trajectory, can hit nearly anywhere.

Sickle: A copy of Caligula's scythe blade flies directly up above him, then down,

then across the bottom of the screen. Swoops up when aligned with the opponent.

BEES

Caligula releases a bee upon pressing. Two bees can be

active at once, and the oldest will fly up-forward (retaining its hitbox)

when a third bee is released. A releases low, B high and C mid-high.

A version has Caligula trip himself over. Seems invulnerable, unclear hitbox.

B version has Caligula extend his head in a 45-degree angle forward.

C version does the same but he jumps in the same direction as well.

They will then slowly move forward and snap up when an enemy

Needs research, seems very useful. Does not trigger item cooldown and

can be used if items are on cooldown. Will not create any less if there

is already an item on the screen, which means duplicates are possible.

Tactics & Strategy Edit


Character Overview Edit

Fill the screen with as much as you possibly can. As long as you don't urgently need to get an opponent out of your face, maintain screen presence. Always keep both bees out, 2 heads, items on cooldown, everything. Use super when you take enough ground to corner your enemy.

Full screen is your ideal range, sweetspot, the works. Mannequin a short way ahead of you is an excellent way to disable jump-ins. Dinosaur heads probably can't go through the mannequin though, so be mindful. Bees are godlike and you can actually launch them for good damage off a dinosaur head/2C. Bee height really depends on who you're against.
